Michelle Lewis is a Licensed Associate Counselor who treats clients with the utmost respect, care and confidentiality, and delivering it all with a high level of responsibility and ethical professionalism.  Inducted into both Chi Sigma Iota and Alpha Epsilon Lambda, Michelle is a member of the American Counseling Association and the National Board of Certified Counselors.  Michelle is a graduate of the CACREP-accredited Master of Arts in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health program at Kean University.

Life comes with unanticipated twists and turns that can leave us confused, hurt, and frequently disoriented. Michelle strives to bring an effective blend of experience, expertise, clarity, concern, and action to the counseling process in order to maximize outcomes and provide genuine healing and wholeness to individuals, marriages and families.

Michelle is able to treat various types of individuals, however, her experience lies with children, relationship management and those tackling substance abuse.  Michelle has a special affinity for athletes, faith-based counseling and supporting those recovering from the loss of loved ones through grief counseling.

Michelle believes the gift of listening and a strong adherence to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) provides her the ability to assist individuals and families in need. However, Michelle will take a holistic approach to understanding the client’s familial, occupational, and community networks to design a plan for healing or providing coping mechanisms to alleviate symptoms, concerning issues or conditions.

I will provide a non-judgmental and compassionate atmosphere in which you can safely explore and work through feelings, thoughts, and beliefs, conscious or unconscious, that may be keeping you stuck. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is the basis for healing and will approach an individualized treatment process with kindness, caring and empathy.
